Eddie Ossola Memorial Toy Run

We're ready for the 8th Annual Eddie Ossola Toy Run on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, and we want you to help us celebrate and support our worthy cause . . . . . the kids of Fremont County. We'll have another terrific poker run that will include stops in Florence, Canon City and the Royal Gorge!

Since 2003, the "Eddie Ossola Memorial Toy Run" has taken place on the Saturday of the Blues Festival. The ride is named in memory of Eddie Ossola, a Cañon City rider killed in a 2003 highway motorcycle accident. In addition to a nominal ride entry fee, participants each bring a toy to the festival that will be distributed to Fremont County kids at Christmas.

All riders are encouraged to show up any time after 9 am, and enjoy some biscuits & gravy and other breakfast selections from our vendors! Bikes will leave the Moosic tent at 11 a.m. Riders will draw poker cards at Fremont Motorsports in Florence; at My Brother's Place in downtown Cañon City; and at the Whitewater Grill at the top of Eight Mile Hill on West Highway 50 before going up to the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. After the first stop, each group will then visit the other two hosting establishments, and then all riders will go to the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park (taking the North Entrance as usual) to listen to the Clam Daddys for awhile. Don’t worry about the route; we'll have maps available. As in the past, we’ll do the door prizes and 50/50 drawings at the Gorge, but the fun’s not over yet! All riders must return to the Blues Tent to pick up their final card (last chance is at 4:05 pm), and announce the winners at 4:30. After that, the fun continues, and all toy run participants will benefit! Yes - the price of the ride includes Saturday entry into the Moosic Tent! It's the best deal going! Admission: $17.00, and a NEW toy, per bike. A second rider is only $8 for a total of just $25 for two people, and this also includes entry to the Moosic Fest for two. This price includes: 5 raffle tickets for door prizes, entry to the Royal Gorge and all it has to offer (except the new Sky Coaster), and 1 Poker Hand. Additional door prize tickets may be bought for $1.00 each. 50/50 tickets are also $1.00 each. Additional Poker hands will be $5.00 each.

So, come early and stay late! And remember - the Moosic Fest will have free shuttle service (for the Cañon City area only) so you can have a great time and not worry about driving yourself home!!

The Moosic Fest brings great blues, oldies, rock, food and fun to Cañon City – and many visitors who travel from throughout the state and around the country to hear their favorite bands in one of the most beautiful settings in North America. Most area hotels and motels offer special rates for the Moosic Festival, but it’s best to call ahead to make sure they have rooms available!
